Whisper Translate Offline

These are the terms for using Whisper Translate Offline, an app for iPhone and iPad that transcribes speech and translates text on your own device. The same terms are shown inside the app under Settings › Terms of Use.
These terms govern your use of Whisper Translate Offline. By installing or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.
Whisper Translate Offline records audio or opens an audio file you choose, transcribes it with the Whisper speech model, and can translate the transcript.
Everything runs on your device. The app has no server of its own and never sends your audio or your text anywhere.
You keep every right you have in the audio you record or import and in the text produced from it. We claim no licence over any of it.
Recordings are deleted as soon as transcription finishes. Only the transcript and its translation are saved, and only on your device.
There are no accounts, no analytics and no telemetry. Nothing you record, type or translate is reported to us or to anyone else.
The only network request the app makes is the translation model download described below, and it happens only because you asked for it.
The speech recognition model is included in the app. The translation model is about 1 GB and is downloaded once from the source named in Settings, then checked for integrity before it is used.
A download uses your data plan. The app checks for free space first and tells you if there is not enough, rather than failing partway through.
Automatic transcription and translation are not perfect. They can drop words, render names and technical terms wrongly, and produce fluent text that is simply not what was said — most often with poor audio, strong accents, overlapping speakers or specialised vocabulary.
Check anything that matters before you rely on it.
Whisper Translate Offline is not a substitute for a qualified interpreter or translator, and its output is not legal, medical, financial or safety advice. Do not use it as the basis for decisions of that kind.
Use Whisper Translate Offline only for audio you have the right to record or process, and only in ways that are lawful where you are.
Recording other people may require their consent. Meeting that requirement is your responsibility, not ours.
The app is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, free of errors, or fit for any particular purpose.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app, including a recording or a transcript that is lost.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be excluded by law, including your rights as a consumer.
These terms may change in a later version of the app. The version shown inside the app you are using is the one that applies to it.
As with apps obtained from the App Store generally, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of this app. Where it and these terms disagree, Apple's terms prevail to the extent Apple requires.
